Bearings are the main components of mechanical equipment, and the produced materials used are different too.

Deep groove bearings are the most common type of ball bearings.

The basic type of deep groove ball bearings are composed of inner ring, outer ring, balls, cage, lubricant, mainly according to the different places of use, we can be roughly divided into four materials.

Analysis of four common materials for deep groove bearings:

1. Material of rings and ball: bearing ring and ball are usually made of bearing steel ,Chrome steel Gcr15 . Most  of deep groove ball bearings use SUJ2 steel in JIS steel, which is domestic chromium steel (GCr15). The chemical composition of SUJ2 has been used as a standardized bearing material in various countries around the world.

It belongs to the same steel type as AISL52100 (USA), DIN100Cr6 (West Germany), BS535A99 (UK).

In addition to the above-mentioned steel types, depending on the specific application, high-speed steel with excellent heat resistance and stainless steel with good corrosion resistance are also used as bearing manufacturing materials.

2. Cage material: The material of stamping cage is made of low carbon steel. Depending on the application, brass and stainless steel plates can also be used. The material of the iron cage uses high-strength brass, carbon steel, and synthetic resin.

3. Dust cover (2RS &ZZ): The dust cover is made of steel. If necessary, AISI-300 stainless steel can also be selected. Different types of sealing materials can be used to achieve high temperature operation and compatibility with grease. Fluorocarbon, silicone and PTFE seals are usually used at high temperatures.

4. Lubricant: Bearings with dust caps and seals are filled with standard grease. Different lubricants can be used according to actual requirements, and open type deep groove ball bearings use standard lubricants.
